The Dangers of Playing It Safe

Playing it safe can be hazardous to your health and your career. Playing brings life and energy. Here is a valuable lesson you can learn about the difference between the two from my experience in a college art class.

I signed up for a basic design and color class because I thought it would be fun and different. I wanted something to round out the semester. Little did I know what I was getting into.

I Asked – You Answered: How I Can Best Serve You

I Have a Dream – The Man Behind the Famous Speech

We’ve all heard of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.  It is one of the most famous American speeches of all time, along with Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and Kennedy’s “Ask not what your country can do for you…” speech.

Visiting My Own Grave

When my husband died, we did not have a cemetery plot. After all, we were young and not expecting to die yet. And now here I was without a clue about what to do. My family, being the practical people we are, met together and decided that we would all buy plots next to each other at the cemetery in my home town, where my parents still live. Not only that, but we also bought the stones all at once and had them installed. All our gravestones are in the cemetery with our names and birth dates.

The only thing missing is our death dates.

A Trip Down a Mountain Changed My Perspective

I recently traveled to Colorado for a meeting. The meeting place was in the mountains, about a 3-hour drive from the airport. I was told that the drive was spectacular, and looked forward to seeing scenery that looked quite different from my home in Connecticut.

I couldn’t have been more disappointed.
